Josephine Calafiore 87, of Hawthorne, N.Y. and formerly of White Plains, N.Y. died on Sept.26, 2009 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. She was born on Oct.7, 1921 to the late Pasquale and Maria(nee Sergi) Bova in Reggio, Calabria, Italy. Josephine was predeceased by her devoted husband Giovanni Calafiore in 1981, 1 son John Angelo Calafiore in 1995 and 2 brothers and 4 sisters in Italy. She is survived by her loving children; Flavia DiNota and her husband Luigi of Hawthorne, N.Y. and Pasquale Calafiore and his wife Rosemarie of White Plains, N.Y., daughter in law Tracy English of Guilford, Conn. 1 sister Katherine Fusca and her husband Vincent of West Harrison, N.Y. Also survived by 5 cherished grandchildren; Vira Gonyo, Vincent DiNota, Jo Marie Capello, John and Brenden Calafiore and 4 great grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady of Mt.Carmel Church, White Plains, N.Y. on Tuesday 10 AM. Entombment, Ferncliff Mausoleum, Hartsdale, N.Y.
