Josephine Cortazzo Arciola, 93, passed away on August 14, 2012, in Townshend VT. She was born on March 17, 1919, in the Bronx, to Carlo & Angelina (Constantino) Cortazzo. Josephine raised her family in Elmsford, NY. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert "˜Bob' Arciola, her daughter Patricia Arciola Maderios and son Robert R. Arciola as well as her grandson SPC. Michael A. Arciola. She leaves behind her daughter Vera Arciola Gervais of Jamaica, VT, her husband Dennis Gervais and grandsons: Travis & Tyler Gervais. Her daughter-in-law Teresa Arciola, of Elmsford and granddaughter Casey. Her grandson Robert J. Arciola, of Ossining and his wife Alexandra, and their daughters Josephine Rose. Her granddaughter, Amanda Olguin, of Scotch Plains, NJ, her husband Oscar, and their daughter Emma. Her grandsons David & Stephen Fishman. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, and many friends who have loved her and will miss her greatly. Josie, was very heavily involved in her parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She was a Eucharistic minister, a volunteer in the school library; part of the Rosary Society; and former president of the Mother's Guild. Her wake will be held on Friday August 17, 2pm- 4pm & 7pm- 9pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home "Elmsford Chapel"� 72 E Main St, Elmsford, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Saturday August 18, at Our Lady of Mt Carmel in Elmsford, with burial at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Michael Arciola Scholarship Fund, AHHA, Elmsford.
