Joseph J. Rybinsky, of Mahopac, NY, died Friday July 4, 2008. He was 89 years old.
He was born on December 7, 1918 (Pearl Harbor Day) in Bronx, NY to Joseph Rybinsky and Sofia Bekawich.
He married Mary G. Gurnis on December 16, 1956 at the Church of St. Joseph, Croton Falls, NY.
He graduated from Evander Childs High School, Bronx, and later served with the army during World War II in North Africa and Italy.
He retired from Sheet Metal Workers Local Union #38 (Brewster, NY) in 1985, after 29 years.
He was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac, and enjoyed hiking in the Catskill's.
Joseph was a devoted husband to his wife, Mary, who predeceased him on June 10, 2008. Joseph is also predeceased by his sister Veronica M. Sternberg on October 28, 2003.
Surviving are nieces Barbara Appolonia, Veronica Kuck, Laura Ryan and Jeanne P. Gurnis and nephew Stephen D. Gurnis, as well as sister-in-law Henrietta G. Kale and brother-in-law Stephen D. Gurnis.
Internment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, NY.
