Joseph P. Leader, Sr.

Joseph P. Leader, Sr. 79, of Hawthorne, N.Y. and most recently of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. died on Oct.13,2017 at his residence. He was born on Sept. 20,1938 to the late Patrick J. and Ann (nee Reilly) Leader in N.Y., N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army from 1956-1958. Joseph worked for Chase Manhattan Bank for 33 years and New York City Carpenters for 8 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St.Dominic Council of Thornwood, N.Y. He is survived by his devoted wife, Claire (nee Mahon) Leader of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. and by his loving children, Ann Marie Viola and son in law Roberto Viola of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. and Joseph P. Leader, Jr. and daughter in law Nancy Leader of Yorktown Hgts., N.Y. and his cherished grandchildren, Christina Leader, Nicholas Leader and Samantha Leader. Predeceased by his baby sister, Ann Marie Leader. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Bway, Suite 1509, N.Y., N.Y. 10018 would be appreciated.
