Joseph Ingrassia

Joseph Ingrassia 92, of New Rochelle, N.Y. died on July 30, 2021 at Calvary Hospital in Bronx, N.Y. He was born on Oct. 14, 1928 to the late Pasquale and Rosaria (nee Modesto) Ingrassia in Brooklyn, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe was a retired Printer with Bar Press in NYC. He was also an avid handyman who enjoyed working on special, creative projects both in and outside his home (i.e., artistic paintings, woodworking, stained glass). He was active in Senior groups and, above all else, loved spending time with his family. He was a man with strong values who exuded warmth, kindness, and love of life. It wasn't until the age of 91 that he retired his car. Joe was predeceased by his devoted wife, Gaetana (nee Pinelli) Ingrassia in 2018 and also predeceased by one sister, Rose Scimonelli and two brothers, Anthony and Paul Ingrassia. He is survived by his three loving daughters, Jeanne (Joseph) Farruggio of Katonah, N.Y., Donna (Richard) McVey of Bronx, N.Y. and Carol-Ann Ingrassia of Eugene, OR. two brothers, Andrew and Larry Ingrassia both of FL. also survived by his five cherished grandchildren, Tara Carter, Michael (Lina) McVey, Marissa (Anthony) Conte, Steven Farruggio and Sara Sheahan and six great grandchildren. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 3-7 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Tuesday, 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to Lustgarten Foundation at lustgarten.org, would be appreciated.
