Joseph J. Girardi
August 10, 1937 — July 25, 2015
Joseph James Girardi of Hawthorne, NY passed away peacefully at Calvary Hospital with his family at his side. Joe was a Veteran of the US Marine Corps, a football player and graduate of Oklahoma A&M.
He was a proud crane operator and a 54 year member of Local 137 International Operating Engineers.
Joe was a devoted husband and father and took great pride in his family, He loved all animals, working out, and talking to his friends on his marathon walks! Joe is survived by his wife Sandra Morin, daughter Ali Girardi (Randy), daughter Joanne Whelpley (John) grandchildren Johnny, Ryan and Deanna, eight step children, brother Al Girardi (Debbie ) first wife Marie Capalbo (Saverio) and his two beloved dogs Fred and Muffin. His life will be treasured and missed by all. We will continue to hold him in our hearts and share the valuable lessons and love he bestowed upon us. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, Wednesday 4-8PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. Thursday July 30, 2015 at 10AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. to follow.
