Joseph Michael Galeno

Joseph Michael Galeno, of White Plains, NY, died January 4, 2013 in Valhalla, NY. He was 83 years old. "Chuck" as he was affectionately know was born May 3, 1929 in Bronx, NY, son of the late Michael and Frances Galeno. He served in the US Army in the Korean War and when he returned he married Mary Guire on November 28, 1953. Chuck worked as a Driver and Mechanic for the NYC Dept of Sanitation. He was a member of the Elmsford Italian American Club for many years and was an avid handball player. Surviving is his beloved wife, Mary, three sons Michael (Marian), Frank (Suzanne) and Joseph (Claudia) Galeno, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Daniel Galeno. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 9 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Elmsford. Reposing 7-9pm Monday and 2-4pm and 7-9pm Tuesday at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main Street, Elmsford. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Putnam Valley, NY.
