Joseph DeLaurentis

Ermanno Joseph DeLaurentis "Joseph" passed away after a short illness with his family by his side on July 29, 2023. He was 76 years old.
He was born on April 7, 1947 in Colledimezzo, Italy in the Abruzzo region to Ersilia Marchionno and Federico DeLaurentiis. He emigrated to America in 1958 at the age of 11 and settled in Yonkers, New York. He was educated in Colledimezzo and later graduated from Saunders Technical High School in 1965. He was drafted into the United States Army serving as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War training troops for deployment. He married the love of his life Elena DiNardo on October 13, 1968. They built a life of love for 55 years settling in Hartsdale, New York. Joseph built his family's forever home where they raised their three sons Dino, Denio and Darien. Joseph was a master craftsman and carpenter. He could design, build and fix anything even when thought impossible. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards, watching old western movies as well as coaching and following soccer. He was affectionately known as Nonno to his 10 grandchildren Olivia, Nicolino, Victoria, Gian-Carlo, Lauren, Sophia, Joseph, Nicolas, Sebastian, and Julian. He is survived by his loving wife Helen, his brother Anthony and sister-in-law Theresa. His sons and daughters-in-law Dino and Michelle, Denio and Danielle, Darien and Mariana as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Remo and sisters Mary and Zita. The family would like everyone to know that Joe was the best husband, father and grandfather. He leaves a great void in our family that will be hard to fill. He will be greatly missed by all of us with his quiet presence and enduring support.
