Joseph Cannizzo

Joseph Cannizzo 90, of Thornwood, N.Y. and formerly of Mt.Vernon, N.Y. died on March 14, 2010 at Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. He was born on Oct. 24, 1919 to the late Antonio and Giuseppina (nee Richieduta) Cannizzo in San Piero, Patti, Sicily. Joseph worked for the Hotel Caryle in NYC as a carpenter. He is survived by his devoted wife Caroline (nee Biscari) Cannizzo of Thornwood, N.Y. 1 sister Giuseppina Tramontano of Italy. Also survived by his many cherished nieces, nephews, great and great i�½ great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister in laws Antoinette Gugliuzzo of Thornwood, N.Y. Rose (Pat) Evangelista and Marie (John) Barbieri all of Harrison, N.Y. Predeceased by 1 sister Maria Foti and 3 brothers Salvatore, Carmelo and Giovanni Cannizzo. Also predeceased by his brother in law Jimmy Gugliuzzo. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Monday 7-9 PM and Tuesday 5-9 PM. Funeral Mass Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Wednesday 10 AM. Interment, Mt.Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
