John Valente

December 14, 1970 — December 16, 2021

Bronx

John Valente, 51, of Seattle, WA. formerly of Boston, MA and Bronx, NY was called home to Our Lord on Thursday, December 16, 2021.  He was born on December 14, 1970 to Lucille (nee Marmo) and John Valente of the Bronx, NY (both formerly of Harlem, NY).  He is survived by his brother, Salvatore Valente of Seattle, WA, and his sister Angela Valente-Muscolino, brother in law Steve Muscolino, niece GiannaLucia Muscolino and nephew Frankie Muscolino, all of Valhalla, NY.  John was a phenomenal son, brother and uncle. He was just 12 years old when his father suddenly passed away of a heart attack and John announced, "I am the man of the family now."  He took that responsibility very seriously and always went out of his way to take excellent care of his mother and siblings. On many occasions John went far above and beyond what most would do for their siblings, the amount of his generosity and love towards his siblings and mother has always been infinite, he gives of himself with no expectation of anything in return. There simply is not a better brother/uncle/son out there!  John was an extremely intelligent man, with a kind heart. He was funny, witty and perspicacious.  He will be sorely missed.

On his 51st birthday 12/14/21, his sister Angela wrote the following letter to him...

Hello Sir (you know I always call you "Sir" because I love and respect you so much),

I am writing to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY and I want you to know that I CELEBRATE your birthday, the anniversary of the day you came into my life.   That day will always be one of the best days of my life.  No matter what happens next year, next month, next week or tomorrow, none of it can take away the joy of the day YOU came into my life!!!!   They brought me to the hospital, and they gave me my pink teddy bear "from the new baby."  That teddy bear was with me 24/7 for years.  I still have it in my closet upstairs.  It brought me so much happiness and security and love.  You have been the most amazing brother from day one.  Any time you were with me I always knew I was loved and cared for and safe.  The things that you have done for me (and my children) over the course of these last 51 years have been so far above and beyond what most siblings do for one another.  And, for the last 39 years you have been both brother and father to me. Over the years we have SO MANY wonderful memories together.  I am so blessed to have you for my brother. And my children have been blessed to have you as their uncle.  They both love you very much and have so many wonderful memories of you.  I need you to know that you have been one of the biggest influences on my life.  You have taught me so much and always continue to do so.  I have always spoken so highly of you.  Everyone who knows me knows that I love and respect you so much.  They know how I've always looked "up" to you. I turn to you for everything.  No matter what it is, you fix it for me. There are no words to thank you for all you've done for me. I will love you forever.  And i will always celebrate your birthday... the day I was blessed to receive you, a gift from God to us, my brother. Love always and forever, Me
