John David Petri, 79 of Elmsford, NY passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at White Plains hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Elmsford, NY John was the son of the late Edna (Petri) Taylor and Joseph Petruzzi. He was the husband of Diane Lousie Petri who passed away on March 27, 2021. They enjoyed 46 years of marriage together and are together once again for eternity.

John considered himself a "tin knocker" and spent most of his life climbing ladders, washing tar off of his hands, fixing roofs and creating sheet metal masterpieces. He owned two successful businesses: Petri Construction and Sheet Metal Masters, Inc. He took extraordinary pride in his work and over the years he lavishly provided for his family. He was a generous man and treated friends as though they were family.

John was a member of Calvary Chapel of Westchester and was a man of deep faith and conviction. He was a loving husband, a fun and engaged father and an even funnier grandfather. He is best known for his sense of humor, stubbornness, fondness of beer, inappropriate comments and absolute love of dogs. He loved his family with every fiber of his being and was at his happiest surrounded by his wife, dogs, kids and grandkids. He also enjoyed playing golf and often would stay on the course, when he was able, until the sun went down. While John was a little rough around the edges, his laughter, astoundingly clever wit, and loyalty were the hallmarks of his life and he will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

John David Petri is survived by Connie Petri Ebrahimi, wife of Reza, and their children Ayden and Arman. Stefanie Petri Wilson, wife of Steve, and their children Ian, Luke and Maddie.Nicole Petri and her children Tristan, Jake and Tyler. John Petri, and his children Alaya, Keir, Kole, Kade and Shyana. Jessica Petri, wife of Greg Dorlini, and their children Andrew and Matthew.

His Siblings: Anita Brauer and her spouse Albert and their children and grandchildren. Jeanne Hepner (Frank Hepner deceased)

Visitation will occur 1-3pm Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Ballard-Durand Funeral & Cremation Services , 72 East Main Street, Elmsford, NY 10523
