John Matamala

John Matamala 32, of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. and formerly of Bronx, N.Y. died tragically on April 10, 2012 in Cancun, Mexico. He was born on June 10, 1979 to Victor and Carmen Matamala in Bronx, N.Y. He was a grade school teacher at Annunciation School in NYC. John is survived by his father, Victor Matamala of Bronx, N.Y. and by his devoted wife, Kathleen (nee Bonowicz) Matamala of Briarcliff Manor, N.Y.and by his brothers, Michael Matamala of Calif. and Victor (Danielle) Matamala of Manassas, VA. Also survived by his mother and father in law, Walter and Ann Marie Bonowicz of Valhalla, N.Y. and sister in law, Jean Marie (Dennis) Reck of Peekskill, N.Y. three nieces and three nephews. Best friend of Cesar Rivera of Ossining, N.Y. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home, on Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Friday 10 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations to Pelham Bay Karate / Judo Academy 1821 Hobart Ave. Bronx, N.Y. 10461 would be appreciated.
