John Mann (Johnny, JM) Ret.LCPL 25, of Valhalla, N.Y. passed away suddenly on Oct. 9, 2010. He was born on June 19, 1985 to Cindy and John Mann in Carmel, N.Y.
Johnny graduated from Valhalla High School in 2003 and joined the US Marine Corp shortly after. He served with the US Marines proudly from 2004-2009, which abruptly ended when he was injured in combat, then retired with honor after being awarded the
Purple Heart. Johnny enrolled at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. He was a sports enthusiast and was an avid Giants, Jets and Yankee fan. Johnny is survived by his grandmothers Marge Mann of Fla. and Erma Burton of Valhalla, N.Y., his mother Cindy Mann and father John Mann, stepparents, Andy Kish and Barbara Mann, siblings, Marissa and Nick Mann, Andrea, AJ and Krysta Kish and his nephew TJ. also survived by aunt and uncle Cathy Burton and Jim Mann. Johnny's memory will live on forever in our hearts. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Thursday 5-9 PM. where funeral services will be held on Friday 10 AM. Interment, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the USMC Wounded Warriors Unit would be appreciated.
