John W. Hubbard, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and former resident of Wappingers Falls, NY and Hartsdale, NY passed away peacefully on February 17, 2025 at the Emerald Peek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Peekskill, NY; at the age of 96. He was born in White Plains, NY on April 2, 1928, son of the late Theodore H. & L. Ruth (Wishart) Hubbard. John attended White Plains High School (NY), graduated from Deerfield Academy (MA), attended Amherst College (MA) and subsequently went on to graduate from Columbia University (NY) with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
John proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; enlisted on October 29, 1950 from White Plains, NY and received honorable discharge on October 29, 1952 in Benning, GA.
John worked for Kennecott Copper Corp., in New York City, as an industrial engineer for twenty-five years. While doing business in Santiago, Chile he met his beautiful future wife. He later worked for Everlon Fabrics Corp. in New Jersey and then self-employed as a freelance engineer and finally worked for GE Aerospace in Massachussetts, commuting from Hartsdale, NY until he retired.
On September 29, 1956 in White Plains, NY, he married Adriana Silva, who predeceased him on July 2, 2018 after 61 years of marriage.
He enjoyed listening to classical music and classic jazz, enjoying a newspaper in the morning with a good cup of coffee and the occasional croissant. In retirement, he spent time as an amateur outdoor photographer, favoring flowers, birds and nature.
John is survived by his three children: Jennifer (Phil) Deschaine, Paula (Greg) Vaughn and John G. Hubbard Sr.. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Jessica Taskov, John G. (Wiktoria) Hubbard Jr., and Giana Hubbard.
Along with his parents and his beloved wife, John was predeceased by his granddaughter Kimberly Willis and his sister Ann Feeley.
His Family will gather in the Spring of 2025 to honor and celebrate John's Life with an interment in the Kensico Cemetery, where the United States Army Honor Guard will render military honors.
