John S. Cappelli

John S. Cappelli 91, of Thornwood, N.Y. died on August 26, 2018. He was born on October 31, 1926 to the late Salvatore and Grace (nee Cavallo) Cappelli. John proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Cappelli of Thornwood, N.Y. and by his loving children, Lisa (Anthony) Barone, John (Kathy) Cappelli, Christine Massello, Laura Boyce, Frank and Shalon Massello, Michael and Maite Massello. Devoted grandfather of Anthony, Jr., John, Maria, Michael, Kenny, Maria Teresa, Jesse, Jillian, Brandon, Madison and Mason. Also survived by his sister, Josephine.  Predeceased by his first wife Frances, brothers, Dominic and Angelo, sister, Carol Ann, son in law, Jimmy. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, 5PM-8PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers donations to Calvary Hospital, 1740 Eastchester Road Bronx, N.Y. 10461, would be appreciated.
