John Bauso of Briarcliff Manor, NY, a local barber for forty seven years died November 10, 2010 at Calvary Hospital. He was 76. Mr. Bauso worked as a barber for Briarcliff Barber Shop, which he owned. He was with the company for 47 years before retiring in December of 2007. John was born January 30, 1934 in Nicosia, Italy to Americo and Concetta Ferrarelli. On February 14, 1960 he married Irene Pensivy at St. Vincent de Paul Church in New York City. John lived in Briarcliff Manor since 1973 coming from the Bronx. Locally he was a life member of the Briarcliff Manor Fire Dept. Ladder Company, Associate member of Independent Hose Co. of the Ossining Fire Dept., as well as the Millwood Fire Dept. and parishioner of St. Theresa Church. He will be remembered for his cooking, sense of humor and barbering for the same families for several generations. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Irene, son John A., and daughter Michele Bauso Prechtl of Briarcliff Manor, four grandchildren Nicole, Christina, Ryan and Gisele, one sister Nancy Lazzaro of New Jersey and one brother Nick of the Bronx. Calling hours are at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532 on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Mass St. Theresa Church, Briarcliff Manor on Monday at 10am.
