JOAN KOTEEN SPIVAK (1933-2011)
Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Cousin, Friend, Entrepreneur.Joan Spivak fulfilled every role of her life with devoted loyalty, love, kindness, humor, enthusiasm, creativity, and a dazzling smile. Joan was born into a family of bright, interested community members and developed her sense of "giving back" that permeated her life. She was a long time resident of Harrison. As a principal of TJ Harbro, LTD a Westchester placement agency, Joan took personal interest in matching applicants to jobs; at Grandma's Restaurant she "made a home" for her customers in a welcoming environment that allowed hundreds of children to "learn how a pie is made".
Always ready to reach out to those in need, Joan Spivak touched many lives, gave her best to the world, and left an indelible mark on all, and we are the better for it. She will be missed by everyone.
