Joan E. Snow passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025 at the age of 92 at her home in Valhalla. Joan was born on May 7, 1932 in White Plains, she graduated from Good Counsel Academy and attended Katherine Gibbs Business School.
She married the love of her life, John Snow on June 17, 1953. They settled in Pleasantville where they raised their 5 children. Most of her career was spent at Frank B. Hall in Briarcliff where she was an Administrative Assistant. After her retirement from Frank B. Hall, she worked at Security World, Inc until her second retirement.
Early in her second retirement, Joan volunteered at Camp Sunshine helping kids with life-threatening illnesses. She looked forward to her summers at Camp Sunshine until she was no longer able to continue to volunteer. Joan was proud of her Irish heritage. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of the Pleasantville Garden Club, an avid gardener who took great pride in her gardens. The only thing she loved more than her family and gardening was ice cream. She never met an ice cream she didn't like!
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, John "Jack" P. Snow, her parents, William McCarthy and Margaret (Griffin) McCarthy and her brother John McCarthy. She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Donna and Art, John and Terri, Austin and Stephanie, Michael and Sheri and Kerri and Tom, 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way! She is also survived by her 2 sisters, Patricia McCarthy and Margaret "Peggy" Fornara.
Her family was most important to her. She cherished each and every child, grandchild and great-grandchild. She will be most remembered by the warmth she brought to a room.
