Joan A. Martell

Joan A. Martell of West Yarmouth, MA and formerly of Hawthorne, NY passed away peacefully on July 22 , 2020 in Cape Cod, MA.  Born September 10, 1934 to Russell and Margaret (Crowley) Breen.  Graduated Monticello High School in 1952.  She worked for Verizon (New York Telephone) until her retirement in 1986 when she and her husband moved to Cape Cod where she volunteered at Cape Cod Hospital for 13 years.  She loved knitting and crocheting and always made sure everyone in her family had their own afghan.  She also loved crocheting and knitting baby clothes and blankets.She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony (Doc).  She is survived by two stepsons, Michael (Elissa) and Robert (Deanna).  Four grandchildren Robert (Danielle), Jennifer, Michael and Stephen and 3 great grandchildren, Michael, Nicholas and Robert. Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. July 31, 2020.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local fire department in Joan’s memory.
