Joan K Gatto

Joan K. Gatto, 84, of Hartsdale, NY, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2014. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and wonderful friend to many. Joan was a pillar of strength not only to her family, but also to her friends. She is predeceased by her parents Francis Julian Kleeman and Dorothy Souza (Gung) and her stepfather Edgar Milton Souza, her husband Anthony Gatto, Jr. and her sister Dorothy Abrash. She is survived by her four children Bruce, James and David Freitag and Laurie Vilanova, daughter-in-law Linda Freitag, son-in-law Joseph Vilanova, her three loving grandchildren Thomas and Julie Vilanova and Taylor Freitag, her brother and sister-in-law Dr. Francis and Alphine Kleeman, her three nephews Jeffrey, Michael and Christopher Kleeman and her niece Julie Kleeman. A graveside service will be held at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 17, 2014. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
