Joan (Wellman) Asher

Joan Asher (nee Wellman) 94, of Thornwood, NY passed away peacefully on August 24th 2017. Joan was born on October 7, 1922.  She immigrated to America from England when she was 7 years old.  She married the love of her life Howard W. Asher in 1944 and was widowed in 1979.   Joan is survived by her loving family; children Jackie and Richard Markert and Valerie Asher; grandchildren Janet Kalpaxis, Nicole Puja, Danielle Spoor, Sandra Serrano, and Eric Spoor; and great grandchildren; Haley, Danika, Shelbie, Nika, Nessa and Nicholas.  Joan, the matriarch of her family was more commonly known to all as Mom, Grams, Little Grams, or GiGi. She was the most selfless and thoughtful woman anyone could have met and has touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.  A memorial service will be held at her final resting place at the Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY on Friday September 1st, 2017 at 1 PM.
