Jeremiah Robert Canfield

Jeremiah Robert Canfield died at his home on April 28. He was born in Glenwood City, WI. His father, Jerry Canfield, and his mother, Nora Mabel Canfield, predeceased him. Jeremiah received a BA from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. After graduation he served in the Army. At the Juilliard School of Music he received a MS degree. Music was a large part of his life. He started out teaching piano and accompanying choruses and instrumentalists. Then he decided he wished to learn the organ. This he did studying many years with Mr. Robert Owen. He was the organist and Choir Director at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Rochelle for 33 years. He is survived by his wife Norma to whom he was married for 63 years, his brother Thomas Harold, his sisters Helen Best and Ruth Olson and many nieces and nephews.
