Jeanne M. McSherry

Jeanne McSherry, a longtime resident of Chappaqua, died Thursday from ovarian cancer. She was 67. Despite the toll of many years of chemotherapy, she sustained a passion for swimming and fine literature, and derived much joy from her grandchildren. Excelling in academics at Mt. Vernon High School, she later studied at Hunter College and earned a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She taught English for 15 years at Rye High School and later worked at Westchester Medical Center. She is survived by her sister, brother, daughter, two grandchildren, three nieces and a nephew.
