Jean Peirce

Jean J. Peirce, a longtime resident of Valhalla, NY, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025, at the age of 93. She was born on August 7, 1931, in White Plains, NY, to John and Mary Grana. Jean grew up in the Silver Lake neighborhood of West Harrison and graduated from White Plains High School.

In 1955, Jean married Robert P. Peirce, and together they shared nearly 62 years of marriage until his passing in 2017. They made their home in Valhalla, where Jean lived for 65 years, raising their family with love and devotion. She cherished time with loved ones and took great joy in caring for her family. She also had a special place in her heart for the family pets, including Sammy, Lily, and Harley.

Jean is survived by her son, Robert, and his wife, Joan; her grandchildren, Matthew, Danielle, Michael, and Katharine; and her brother, Lewis Grana, and his wife, Dorothy. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob; her son, Steven M. Peirce; and her parents, John and Mary Grana.

Family and friends are invited to honor Jean's life on Saturday, March 8th, at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home of Hawthorne, with a visitation from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM. Jean will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Cancer Research Institute in Jean's memory.
