Jean Fox

Jean Fox, of Purchase, NY, died of lung cancer on July 1 at home. She was 94 years old. Jean was born June 6, 1915 in New York, NY, daughter of the late August and Bessie Freiman. She married Dr. Charles A. Fox on March 22, 1941. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed gourmet cooking. Surviving are her daughter, Emily Fox of Eugene, OR, and son, F. L. Fox of San Francisco, CA. Jean was also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Jean was preceded in death by her husband in 2001. She was also predeceased by three sisters, Louise Spitzer, Marcia Lester and Sylvia Mark. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10am at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains. Interment will follow in the Wellwood Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
