James J. Gagnon 66, of Yonkers, N.Y. died on June 22, 2014. He was born on Feb.28, 1948 to the late Joseph Omer and Kathryn Gagnon, Jr. in Mt.Vernon, N.Y.
He was a graduate of both Blessed Sacrament High School and Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y. He was an avid sportsman and poet. He worked for the NYC Hospital System for 30 years. James is survived by his brother, William Gagnon of Ridgefield, Conn. and brother in law Gary Hartsel and predeceased by his two brothers, John G. Gagnon and Joseph Omer Gagnon III and his one sister, Annmarie Hartsel. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Ron (Liz) Gagnon, Sean Gagnon, Johnny Gagnon, Justin Hartsel, Nicole Firistone and Joseph O. Gagnon IV and cousins, Elaine and John Gaulik, Mary Reidy Gail and Ed, Bill and Wilma Reidy and grand nieces and nephews, Isabelle, Sierra, Rio, Noah, Nathan, Andrew, Lilah, Lane, Leonard (Harvey)and Harper. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield, Conn.
