James F. Donovan

James F. Donovan 91, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Nov.27, 2020. He was born on Dec.11, 1928 to the late Jeremiah and Nora (nee Grady) Donovan in N.Y., N.Y. He was a proud member of the US Army National Guard from 1947-1953. James was a Foreman with New York Telephone Co. in Bronx, N.Y. retiring after 42 years of service. He was an avid Hunter and received numerous sharp shooter awards at Camp Perry in Ohio. James was predeceased by his devoted wife, Elizabeth (nee Dolan) Donovan in 1986 and is also predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Nardozzi, Kathleen Donovan and two brothers, Jeremiah and Dennis Donovan. He is survived by his loving children, James S. (Patricia) Donovan of Stormville, N.Y., Kenneth F. (Kristine Rubio) Donovan of San Jose, CA., Noreen A. Donovan  (Edwards) of Brewster, N.Y. and Therese (Roger) Haughton of Summit, N.Y. one brother, Daniel Donovan of Brewster, N.Y. Also survived by his four cherished grandchildren, Joseph F. and Sean K. Edwards and James J. and Kevin P. Donovan and one great granddaughter, Nora James Donovan. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Wednesday, 2-6 PM. Funeral Mass, Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Thursday, 10 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y.  In lieu of flowers donations to Regional Hospice of Danbury, regionalhospicect.org, would be appreciated.
