James Michael Amone, 83 of White Plains, NY, Marco Island, FL died peacefully on July 9, 2017. He was born in Patchogue, NY on March 7, 1934 to James and Victoria (Buonafiglia) Amone from San Dimitrio, Italy. Jimmy was raised in Yonkers, NY and Attended Yonkers Schools. He proudly served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954. He then went on to work at Heineken Inc in advertising for his entire career, until his retirement in 1996. He was predeceased by his wife Anna in 2011, after 42 years of marriage. He is predeceased by his former wife Alice D'Aguila, his sister Josephine and brother, Thomas. He is survived by his sons, Michael of Mahopac, NY and Daniel of Poughkeepsie, NY. He was the cherished grandfather of Nicholas, Matthew, Bridget and Sophia Amone. A brother Rocco Amone of Patchogue, NY and sister-in-law and husband Irene and Horst Fuellbier of Sunnyside, Queens, NY. He was an uncle and great uncle to many. Jimmy enjoyed spending time at his home in Marco Island during the winters with his wife Anna and family. He was an avid sports fan of the NY Giants and NY Yankees. He loved all things Italian, people, food and music. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 12 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in White Plains at 10:30AM. Friends may call from 4-8pm Tuesday (today) at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue at South Broadway, White Plains, NY. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
