Jack A. Baum 91, of Hawthorne, N.Y. died on Sept. 17, 2018. He was born on June 23, 1927 to the late Harold and Martha (nee Braun) Baum in Yonkers, N.Y. He proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Jack worked for the Metro North Railroad in NYC for 43 years as Deputy Director of Claims. He was a member of the Town of Mt. Pleasant Zoning Board of Appeals for over 25 years and later served as chairman. He was a member of the Mt. Kisco American Legion and an active member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Pleasantville, N.Y. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Joan (nee Morris) Baum of Hawthorne, N.Y. and by his loving children, Gary J. (Sharon) Baum of Red Hook, N.Y., Paul S. (Karen) Baum of Cortlandt Manor, N.Y., Glen S. Baum of Hawthorne, N.Y. and Lynn A. (Edward) Stoecker of Carmel, N.Y. also survived by his six cherished grandchildren, Michael (Kaitlin), Amy (Bryan), Sara, Jacqueline, Kristen and Scott and three great grandchildren, Lucas, Liam and Benjamin. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Service, Emanuel Lutheran Church, Pleasantville, N.Y. on Saturday, 11 AM. Interment Private.
