Isidore Harris

Isidore Harris (Izzy), a resident of White Plains for over 72 years, died January 21, 2010. Izzy was born on November 28, 1912 in the Bronx. He attended PS 184 and the Harlem Evening High School. He became a plumber and recently celebrated his 75th year anniversary with Local 299. He was a WWII Navy/Marine veteran. His wife, Mildred Orlofsky, predeceased him in 1977. He was a member of the Hebrew Institute of White Plains and active in their Brotherhood. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Jewish War Veterans. In years past, Sunday mornings would find him happily fishing at Silver Lake Park. Izzy is survived by his two daughters, Diane Travers and Judy Gordon of White Plains, and the light of his eyes - his grandchildren: Jennifer Hartglass, David Travers and Jared Gordon - and his great grandchildren, Maya and Noah.
