Win Rosenblatt of Hartsdale, died peacefully at the age of 94 on March 27, 2023, surrounded by the love of his friends and family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, accomplishment and talent. He served in the Army in the late 40’s. Upon his return, he moved to Hartsdale with his late wife, Ruth, and worked as a display artist for Seagrams and Hiram Walker. Then, as principal of his own business, Winart Signs, he created community welcome plaques, signs and logos for numerous Westchester businesses, many of which still stand. He joined the Hartsdale Volunteer Fire Department in 1962, rose through the ranks to become Captain and training officer, and was recently honored for 60 years of dedicated service. He worked out at the firehouse until 2020, where firefighters were astounded at his strength.
He enjoyed traveling, golf, dancing, ping pong and playing cards every Thursday in a group for the last 50 years. He will be forever remembered with love and admiration. Win is survived by his loving cousins, Lisa, Kara, Liza & Matt, Erika & Jorge, Olivia & Steve, and Sara & Dave. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Ilene, Jill, Brian, Stan and Russ. Friends and family are invited to honor him at a celebration of his life on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 1:00 PM, Ballard Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY 10601. For those unable to attend in person, the service will be live streamed.
