Ina Joyce LeKachman

Ina Joyce LeKachman 88, died on Feb. 12, 2018 at Calvary Hospital in Bronx, N.Y. Ina grew up in White Plains, N.Y. the daughter of Alexander and Pearl Albert. She had one brother Larry with whom she was very close. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro and was a French major. After college, Ina worked at Air France in Manhattan. In April 1955, she married her husband Richard (Dick) LeKachman. They were married for 58 years until Dick’s death in 2013. They raised two children together, James J. LeKachman of Pittsburgh, PA and Cydney A. McCann of Hawthorne, N.Y. Ina was a strong woman who was sweet and kind at every moment of every day. She always thought of others before herself even during her dying days. She had a smile that lit up the room and made everyone feel better whenever they were around her. Ina was a talented violinist, played the piano and had a beautiful singing voice. Music was one of the biggest parts of her life, beyond her great love for her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Ina is survived by her son and daughter in law, James J. LeKachman and Colette Y. LeKachman, her daughter and son in law, Cydney A. McCann and Christopher D. McCann and her six grandchildren, George, Casey, Drew, Caroline, Jacqueline and Alex. Her family is planning a memorial concert in the coming weeks for family and friends to honor her memory.
