Ilia Fortuna

Ilia Fortuna was born on February 2, 1935 in Ponce, Puerto Rico daughter of the late Adrian and Maria Rivera. In 1956, after having graduated from the Catholic University of Puerto Rico, she came to New York and earned a Master's Degree in social work from Fordham University. Ilia retired from Burke Rehabilitation Center in White Plains after many years of service. She was the widow of Dominick Fortuna and is survived by her son Paul, his wife Debbie, and her daughter Maria DelVino. There are also five grandchildren Anthony and Matthew Fortuna and Dominick, Nicholas, and Deanna DelVino. She will be sorely missed because of her caring and vivacious personality. There were so many relatives and friends whose lives were enriched by Ilia's kindness, loyalty, and compassion.
