Celebrating the Life of Ila Bonnedette Williams
July 17, 1963 - March 12, 2025
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we honor the beautiful life of Ila Bonnedette Williams, a woman whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to family and friends made the world a brighter place. Born on July 17, 1963, in White Plains, New York, to the late Jacqueline Ruby Williams and Arthur Williams Sr., Ila was a beacon of love, strength, and laughter to all who knew her.
Raised in White Plains, she graduated from White Plains High School, where she formed lifelong friendships that she carried with her through the years. Though life took her on many journeys, her heart always remained rooted in the love of her family and friends.
Ila now rests in eternal peace, reunited with those who went before her-her beloved siblings, cousins, and aunts: the late Michelle Jacquelyn Brown, Addie Ruth Williams, Arthur Alonzo Jr., Jacqueline Jolly, and Joyce Thomas. Though we grieve her loss, we find comfort in knowing she is surrounded by love on the other side.
She leaves behind a family that will forever cherish her memory: her beloved daughter, Jacquelyn Williams-Taylor, and a host of nieces and nephews-Courtney, Brandon, Adrian, Dante Williams, Tauren & the Boley family, and Deric Brown & family. She is also survived by her step-sister, Kristen Haloj, her cousins Maxine, Melissa, Jerrie, Frances, Charlotte, and her entire Atlanta, Georgia, and Alabama family and friends, all of whom she held close to her heart.
Ila's love extended beyond blood-she was a sister in spirit to her longtime best friend, Valerie Weaver Dixon, and a second mother, sister, and confidante to Sonja Dixon and her high school CBS crew. No matter where life took her, Ila made everyone feel like family.
Her heart was boundless, her laughter contagious, and her love immeasurable. Whether she was offering words of wisdom, making someone smile through their darkest days, or simply being a listening ear, Ila was a guiding light. She had a way of making everyone feel special, of turning the ordinary into something beautiful.
Most recently, she dedicated herself to helping others as a Health Care Coordinator at Mount Saint Vincent, a role that fit her so well. She wore many hats, but her most cherished roles were those of mother, sister, friend, and nurturer-titles she carried with grace and endless love.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Ila was called home unexpectedly due to heart failure. Though her passing was sudden, the impact she made in the lives of those she loved will never fade. She will live on in every shared memory, every warm embrace, every act of kindness inspired by her spirit.
Ila was love personified. She was home, laughter, and light. And though we will miss her more than words can express, we will carry her love with us always.
Rest peacefully, Ila. Your love lives on.
