Hulda J. Goetz died on October 18, 2008, at the age of 107. A long time Red Cross worker and former director of Service to Armed Forces and Veterans Department of the Westchester County Chapter, American Red Cross. She retired in 1963. She was born August 31, 1901, in West Rutland, Vermont, to John and Anna Johnson. The family moved to Schenectady, New York, where she received her early schooling. She graduated from the Massachusetts General Hospital Nursing School, earned a B.S. from Columbia University and a Master's Degree from the Smith College School for Social Work. She worked for Red Cross Chapters in Bridgeport, Connecticut and Syracuse, New York. She was a member of American Red Cross Retirees, Inc. and the National Association of Social Workers. She entered the Osborn Retirement Community in Rye, NY on August 8, 1989. Her husband, John H. Goetz, predeceased her, and both were active members of the White Plains Presbyterian Church. Also predeceased were sister Olga Johnson and brother Carl Johnson of Schenectady, NY and John Edwin Johnson of Shavertown, PA. Surviving are her niece and several nephews. Funeral services are private. Interment is at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, New York.
