Hubert King

Hubert King, 94, of Valhalla, NY passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021. Hughie was born August 8, 1926 in the townland of Cloonruff, Galway County Ireland to the late James King and Annie King (Fannon).  He immigrated to the United States in 1949 where he found the love of his life, Rose Courtney, and they were blissfully married for over 65 years.  Hughie and Rose resided in Valhalla for the past 50 years.  Hughie was the manager of Fox Meadow Tennis Club in Scarsdale, NY.  He served proudly in the US Airforce during the Korean War, was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and an avid parishioner of Holy Name of Jesus Church.With a quick wit and a warm smile, Hughie loved to be in the company of others especially his family.   He is survived by his loving wife Rose, his sons Kevin and his wife Christine, Brendan and his wife Patricia and Michael and his wife Josephine.  He was a devoted and beloved grandfather and great grandfather of: Courtney, Timothy (who he joins in Heaven), Kerry, Brian, Katie, Caitlin, Bailey, Kristina, Sean, Emily, Colleen, Camryn, Kinsley, and Grace.

Due to the Current World Health Crisis, There will be a  Private Family Viewing only at Hawthorne Funeral Home, followed by at Funeral Mass, Open to the Public at, Holy Name of Jesus Church, Valhalla, N.Y. on Monday, Jan.25, 2021 at 10 AM. Followed by interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Greenburgh, N.Y.
