Herb valued education and continuous learning, which he instilled in his children and grandchildren. He graduated summa cum laude from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in 1974.
Herb believed in giving back and paying it forward and often volunteered his time, including time as the PTO president of his children’s elementary school, as well as with his local fire department in Valhalla.
Herb enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and landscaping, and was an avid boater and fisherman. Herb was a lifelong subscriber to National Geographic, exhibiting his natural curiosity and his ambition to always gain a deeper understanding of the world and how things work. His grandchildren, in particular, share this quality.
