Herbert Israel Mullin of White Plains passed away March 7, 2007, in his 85th year. Herb was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on March 20, 1922. He was the son of Phillip and Celia and was raised in the Bronx. He graduated from James Monroe High School, received his bachelor's degree from Long Island University and his master's degree and PhD ABD from New York University. Herb was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Forces 3501st, a teacher for two decades at DeWitt Clinton High School in the Bronx, a craftsman, and the owner of The Toy Man in Sparta, N.J. He was an avid mandolin player who loved classical music, literature, travel, his friends and his family. He was the loving husband of Estelle (Averbach); doting father of Neil, Larry, Nancy DeNicolo and Linda Miller; dear brother of Paula; dear father-in-law of Nancy Smith, Michael Wilde, John DeNicolo and Tim Miller; dear grandfather of Daniel, Corinna, Chelsea, Zachary, Francesca, Jenny, David and Carrie; and proud great-grandfather of Kacie, Sydney, Julien, Isaiah, Stella Mae and Eamon.
