Henry Olaf Christiansen of Hawthorne, NY passed away at home on September 29, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Son of Jennie Eliassen and Alfred Christiansen, he was born December 28, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Genevieve. Henry was a survivor of the sinking WWII Navy USS Drexler DD74, he is predeceased by son James H. Christiansen and survived by sons, John Christiansen, Thomas (Ginny) Christiansen, David (Heidi) Christiansen, and daughter Susan A. Kasbarian and seven grandchildren, Matthew, Stephen, Brian, Eric, Julia, Emily and EV. He is a graduate of LIU University and attended Brooklyn Law. Henry retired from IBM in Armonk, NY as Tax Specialist. As the ‘planner’ Henry said, “After it’s all over...everyone should go to Gordo’s and have a party”. So please join us on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at 1-4pm at Gordo’s restaurant in Hawthorne. As we celebrate Henry’s wonderful life, a mass to celebrate Henry’s life is planned for a future date.
