Helene Hansen

Helene Hansen passed away peacefully on the evening of January 27, 2023 at the age of 73.

Helene was born in November of 1949 in Brooklyn, NY to Helene and Arthur Sundrae. She was the first born, followed by her two brothers, Arthur and Mark. She went to St. Saviour Catholic School and then graduated from Bay Ridge High School.

Helene started her career as a key-punch operator and worked her way up to becoming the manager of that department when computers were in their infancy in the early 1970s. Helene married Vincent in 1972 and had their son, Jeffrey in 1975 while living in the Bronx. Around five years later, Helene and Vincent were divorced. In 1988, Helene married her second husband, Jeffry Hansen who was with her for the rest of her life.

Helene became a full-time homemaker around 1992 and enjoyed activities like crocheting, making jewellery and cooking. She also loved her two cats, Mittens and Cleo. In August of 2014, Helene became a grandmother to Aaron and her new hobby became doing everything she could to make him happy!

Helene is survived by her husband Jeffry Hansen, son Jeffrey (Sheuli) Forte, and grandson Aaron. She is predeceased by her parents.
