Helen Margaret (Lynch) Jordan, a long-time resident of White Plains, NY, died peacefully at White Plains Medical Center on Jan. 10, 2012 at the age of 80. Born in Sunnyside, Queens on November 24, 1931, she was raised in the South Bronx and attended Morris High School. A devoted mother and grandmother and a devout Roman Catholic, she thoroughly enjoyed her final 21 years working as the head receptionist and clerical assistant at the White Plains Center for Nursing Care where she was beloved by patients and staff alike. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years Dennis in 2009 and is survived by their children (and their spouses) Joanne of Chapel Hill, NC; John of Middletown, NY; Jacqueline Moussavi of Ridgefield, CT; and Janine Jordan-Covert of White Plains, NY. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Ellen Lynch, brother John Lynch and sister Catherine Keevins. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jordan, Catherine, and Robert Harrell; Sean Jordan; Darius, Lily, Rachel, and Sarah Moussavi; and Alexandra Covert; sister Mary Boylan-Greenan of Mount Vernon, brother Thomas Lynch of Nanuet and brother-in-law Michael Jordan of Miami, FL, as well as many nieces and nephews who will sorely miss their "Aunt Helen." There will be a memorial service at Hawthorne Funeral Home, Hawthorne, NY on Thursday, Jan. 12th from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, January 13th at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, White Plains, NY at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House.
