Harold Brewster Lent (while called Bruce, his given middle name was Brewster. He was a direct descendant of Elder Brewster of Mayflower fame). Born March 19th, 1922.
Graduate of White Plains School system. Attended Colgate University
A First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corps. An administrative pilot in the Air Transport Command, North Atlantic Division. Won several flying competitions while a cadet in training and later as a flight instructor.
Chairman of Knox, Lent & Tucker Inc. Recipient of the professional designation Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter. President of the Westchester County Association of Insurance Agents. Member of Rotary Club for 42 years.
Member of the Zoning Board of Appeals since 1944. Member of the Church In The Highlands, serving on the Board of Trustees among other boards and committees.
Board of Directors of the Boy Scouts of America. Member of the Superintendent's Advisory Committee of the White Plains School System. Member of various committees in support of the school board candidates' elections. Current member of the White Plains Volunteer Fireman's Association Union Hook & Ladder Company #1. He was also a member of the United States Air Squadron. Former member of the Ardsley Country Club, President of Westchester Hills Golf Club, member of the American Yacht Club and member of the Scarsdale Golf Club.
Bruce loved his family, golf, bridge, boating and Big Band music. Husband of Martha Jane Lent, father of Barbara Lent Phelan, Stephen Brewster Lent, Gregory Brewster Lent and beloved daughter-in-law Maryellen Lent. Son of Harold and Margaret Flanders Lent. Brother of Barbara Lent Owens, who predeceased him.
