Harold Junker, Jr., a retired employee for Kent, Hazzard, Jaeger, Freeman, Greer & Wilson, and a lifelong area resident, died Thursday, May 18th at White Plains Hospital. He was 81.
The son of Harold Junker and Esther Sequin Junker Tripp, he was born on December 31, 1924 in White Plains. He was a member of the White Plains Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Princeton University, and formerly active in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a WW II combat veteran in the 616th Field Artillery Unit, receiving four medals in 2 1/2 years of active service. Hal was known for his good humor, ready wit, generous spirit, appreciation of nature, and love of jazz.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, at home; three sons, Jeffrey D. Junker and his wife, Carol, of Greenwich, CT; John R. Junker, at home; and James E. Junker and his wife, Gerry, of Lake Carmel, NY; one daughter, Heidi Junker Coleman and her husband, Martin, of Monroe, NY; one brother, David S. Junker of New York City; three grandchildren, Allyson, Emily, and David; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth J. Knott.
Internment will be private.
