On Tuesday, May 10, 2022 Grace Marrone Ballard passed away peacefully in a hospice facility in Port Orange, Florida. She was the beloved wife of Pete Ballard of Port Orange Florida. She was a nurse for 50 years starting her career at Jacoby Hospital in the Bronx, New York retiring in 2017 in Port Orange, Florida. Grace was born on September 13, 1951 in the Bronx, New York to the late Tony and Emily Marrone She was a huge animal lover, and enjoyed going to the beach, going out to eat, and shopping. She loved listening to music, and was a big fan of American Idol, The Voice and loved being with family and friends. Her greatest joy in life was being with her children and grandchildren. She leaves behind three heartbroken children Diane Canada and her husband Eric of Watertown, CT. William Cowan Jr. and his wife Jess of Derby, CT and Michael Cowan of Waterbury, CT. Two step sons Randy Ballard and his wife Shannon of Naugatuck, CT and Kenny Ballard who is pre-deceased. Three grandchildren Eric Canada Junior and Justin Canada both of Watertown, CT., Blakeleigh Cowan of Derby, CT. Two step-grandsons, Dylan Ballard and Douglas Ballard both of Naugatuck, CT. Grace is also survived by her sister, Diane Tomanelli and her husband Ronnie of Yonkers, NY, brother Anthony Marrone and his wife Anna of Cos Cob, CT. Cherished nieces and nephews Ronnie Tomanelli Jr., Dr. Toniann Tomanelli, Laurie Parisi, TJ Marrone, Christopher Marrone, and Robyn Angeli also survive her as well as several cousins and friends. Her children asked that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Colon Cancer Awareness.
