Giovannina Nina DiSanzo

Giovannina (Nina) DiSanzo 81, formerly of Valhalla, N.Y. went into the arms of the Lord Sunday July 12, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by family. Born February 6, 1934 in San Basile, Italy. She was the daughter of the late Pietro and Rachele Tamburi. She married Leone DiSanzo in 1956 and immigrated to the United States. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her family meant everything to her. She worked in retail as a sales associate most recently at the Bon Ton store in Queensbury, NY. Before that she worked for Alexander's and A&S Department stores in White Plains NY. Nina was a devout Catholic. She placed her faith and love in the Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary daily. She was a member of Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish in Queensbury for the past 19 years and before that the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Valhalla and St Anthony's in the Bronx. Besides her parents, Nina is predeceased by one brother Vincenzo Tamburi. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, her children Lena (Lanny Smith) DiSanzo, Rachele (Michael) Maresca and Anthony (Rebecca) DiSanzo and her granddaughters Lindsey and Ashley Maresca. She is also survived by her sister Elena (Luigi) Vacca, brother Mario (Carla) Tamburi and sister-in-law Rita Tamburi, of Italy. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Friday, 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, N.Y. on Saturday, 10 AM. Interment to Follow.
