Gerttude C. Kebba., passed away in her home at Eddy Village Green on the evening of January 10, 2011 with ber family at her side. She celebrated her 901h birthday on July 29, 2010. She was born and raised in New York City, the daughter of Albert R. and Gertrude (nee Gibney) Conner. She graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School and attended the College of Mt. St. Vincent. She was a resident of Hillsdale, NJ for over 56 years. Gertie was predeceased by William, her husband of over 66 years. She was the mother of Bill (Madeline) of Kennesaw, GA, Jeanne (Louis) Billera of Ithaca, NY, Thomas (Elaine) of Greensboro, NC, Pat (Jim) McPhillips of Troy, NY, Eileen (Bill) McGovern of Clifton, VA, Marie Kebba of Paonia, CO, Jim (Pat) of Holyoke, MA and Bob (Cindy) of North Potomac, MD. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Cannon, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gertie (Trudy) had much pride in her husband, her children and family. She was proud of her contributions towards establishing the family funeral business in N. Y .C. and always maintained a strong sense of connection to the Inwood community of upper Manhattan, the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Paulist Fathers. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 W. Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 :30 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel, Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
