Gertrude Marie Fedor

Gertrude Marie Fedor, 82 years of age. After a hard fought 60-day battle with cancer, succumbed to her illness and passed away peacefully in her home on May 22, 2014. Born February 4, 1932 to Alois and Agnes Lirzer, she grew up with her sister Eleanora in Hawthorne, NY. Mrs. Fedor, affectionately known as "Trudi" and "Bubbles," worked for Bell Telephone Company and for 30 plus years at Ruhle Companies (formerly known as Farrand Industries) where she loved working full time until recently learning of her illness. Known by family, friends, and coworkers for her indomitable spirit and compassion, she was always ready to help anyone she could, naturally saw the best in people, and encouraged people to live a full life and to follow their hearts. Trudi will be remembered for her passion for life, perpetual energy, her positive spirit, strength, and great sense of humor. She will be missed as an incredible mother to her four children, as a beloved and cherished wife to her predeceased husband of over forty-six years, Martin Paul Fedor, Jr., as a loving "Oma" to her two grandchildren, and as the beautiful person and friend she was to all that knew her. Throughout her courageous battle with cancer, Trudi continued to be a role model to those who knew her, giving strength to her family as she fought with dignity and grace. She is survived by her four loving children, two cherished grandchildren, and sister. Reposing Hawthorne Funeral Home on Sunday 3 PM-7 PM.
