George Bardos, 91, of White Plains, NY, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023. George was born July 3, 1931 in the Bronx, NY to the late Charles and Mary Bardos.
After graduating from high school in Palm Beach County, Florida, George attended City College and received his Bachelors and Masters degrees from the Columbia University School of Optometry. He served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1957.
George had the amazing fortune of meeting the love of his life, Marcia, at Camp Chippinaw in the Catskills where George was the boxing counselor. George and Marcia married on October 13, 1954, at the Amsterdam Hotel in Manhattan.
George began his successful career at Royal McBee and then worked for 25 years at Control Data Corporation before co-founding Vastera in the late 1990s. He was a charming and successful salesman, attentive to the needs of his clients as well and his employers.
George loved wintering in Florida and playing golf on Longboat Key. He also loved playing tennis and the piano, but most of all he enjoyed being with his loving wife, traveling the world on cruise boats, and spending time with family and friends.
George is survived by his wife, his daughter Susan and her husband Richard, his son Richard and his wife Elissa, and his son Jeffrey and his wife Cathleen. George was a loving and devoted husband and father, always supporting and generous to his wife and children.
George is also survived by his grandchildren: Yonah, Daniel, Shai, Tova, Alice, Cassia and Sophie and by his greatgrandchildren: Gavi, Zevi, Shalom, Hindi and Shalva.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Bardos, by his loving sister, Phyllis and her husband, Henry.
