Gasstrom Evald

Evald H. Gasstrom, age 95, of White Plains died June 26, 2008. For 56 years, he was the loving husband of the late Valma Nylund. He was the devoted father of Lisa Gasstrom and the late John Gasstrom and the brother of Mildred.. He is also survived by his son-in-law Michael Mascari and adored grandson, John Evald Mascari. Mr. Gasstrom graduated from Columbia College Class of '34 and the Columbia University School of Engineering. During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was the President of the Eagle Rule Manufacturing Company and later, Gasstrom Technologies. Mr. Gasstrom was a founder and President of the WARC as well as an original member of NYSARC, Inc. serving adults and children with developmental disabilities. He was a long time member of The Church in the Highlands as well as the Knights of Kaleva, Finnish American Chamber of Commerce and the Finlandia Foundation.
