Ms. Gale Perzigian, daughter of the late Michael and Mariam Perzigian, died peacefully in her sleep in her home on August 19, 2017. She was 94.
Gale worked as an administrator at Blue Cross & Blue Shield until her retirement. She then started a second career which spanned over 25 years volunteering as the secretary of St. Gregory's Armenian Church in White Plains, NY. She was proud to say she never called in sick, not once!
Gale was always willing to help anyone she could, but would seldom ask for any in return. She tirelessly cared for her mother and brother throughout their respective sicknesses and comforted them to the end.
Gale's love of her family and friends was only matched by her love of animals. She supported the ASPCA and other animal care and rescue organizations. She was also an avid sports fan, forever rooting for her Mets and Jets.
She is predeceased by her brothers John, Joseph and Albert. She is survived by her nephew, Alan Perzigian of Pearl River, NY, his wife, Susan, and their three children, Steven, Diana and Jason. She is also survived by her niece, Karen Maione of Chesterfield, VA, her husband, Eric, and their two children, David and Alexa.
Although her direct family may have been small, Gale's extended family of loved ones was quite expansive, including members of her beloved church, the many residents of her apartment building, and the countless number of friends she made and kept along the way. She was truly everyone's "Aunt Gale" and will be sorely missed by all.
Visitation will be held at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Avenue, White Plains, NY on Friday, Sept 1st from 5-7pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Gregory's Armenian Church, 1131 North Street, White Plains, NY on Saturday, September 2nd at 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to St. Gregory's Armenian Church.
